Pink Floyd's The Wall

My favorite thing about watching Pink Floyd’s The Wall is that I find myself both riveted by, and completely and utterly embarrassed for everyone involved with making it. At his most, Alan Parker is the commercial Ken Russell; a director of no subtlety whatsoever, quite probably what Michael Bay would aspire to if he ever tried his hand at something as effete as an art movie. Of course, Parker’s bombastic style perfectly suits the material, because The Wall could easily have been named Message and issued in stick form so Roger Waters could come to your house and beat you over the head with it.
