Google Tasks

Google is apparently revamping its mail service, and has also decided to make gmail’s Tasks function into a separate app for Android and iOS. I had to try it, if only out of curiosity.

It’s extremely spartan, to say the least. Apple’s own Reminders looks like Things 3 in comparison. Obviously, there’s nothing wrong with simplicity, but this is taking it too far. Microsoft’s ToDo, which is supplanting Wunderlist, is far more powerful, while still remaining simple to use for the end user.

This is Google, so I assume the project is still in beta. I predict Tasks will gain more features incrementally (they’re revamping Mail after all) before eventually getting sunsetted or rolled into Google Keep.
